Mikayla Colohan - Brigham Young University - National Women's Soccer Player of the Year 2021

Mikayla Colohan

National Soccer Player of the Year

Brigham Young University

Colohan’s athletic bona fides are certainly well-established. Days after the
Cougar soccer team played in its first national championship game, on
December 6, Colohan was named Top Drawer Soccer’s
National Player of the Year.

The player of the year honor was a nod to her talent. The Kaysville, Utah,
native scored 18 goals in 2021, second most in the nation. When not kicking
or heading balls into the back of the net, she was usually setting up one of her
Cougar teammates, recording 16 assists.

Colohan finished her college career with 53 goals, second most
in BYU history.

She is also an academic all-American after earning a degree in
exercise and wellness with a 3.63 grade-point average.

BYU Football and Prayer

BYU considers Prayer to God more important than football.

Perspective: Watching BYU Cougars pray after the football game can teach us something about talking with God.

On October 16, something wonderful happened in Waco, Texas, at McLane Football Stadium. Sure, Baylor roughed up, and beat up my Cougars, 38-24. The more physical, disciplined team won that day. But for me, the moment of greater significance occurred after the game when the two teams circled together and prayed. Who would have imagined that Baylor, the world’s largest Baptist university and BYU, the world’s largest Latter-day Saint university, would pray together after a hard-fought football game? Protestants and Latter-day Saints praying together.

Of course, that’s not the only occasion BYU players have circled up with their opponents after the game. It’s usually a discreet act, but the nation caught another glimpse of it last week after BYU played Virginia.

 BYU Football and Prayer

Students, be more prayerful in all aspects of your life. Put God first at all times, and things will work out for your good, happiness and true success. Trust Him. Talk with Him. Spend more time with Him. Make Him and Jesus Christ your best friends. They love you and care about you. Love them. When you Choose the Right, you feel nearer to God and Jesus, because choosing the right brings you closer to them, and you will feel their presence-it is so peaceful and joyful. The CTR Path is God's Path, the righteous path, the strait path (CTW is the crooked path of afflictions, torment, and pain and regret); therefore, when you are living on His path, The CTR Path, you are definitely on the RIGHT PATH!  Choose the Right Path. You can do it if you will.
