PERSONAL STATEMENT

(1) I firmly believe that I can achieve wonderful things at the collegiate level if only given the chance to do so. Every day on and off of the soccer field I push myself to be the very best that I can be. Academically, I'm at the top of my class, and I strive for nothing but the very best in each of my classes. Given the chance, I know I could preform well academically while maintaining a high level of play on the soccer pitch.  As an athlete, I maintain that determination and that fire to be the very best at what I do. My expectations for myself and for my teammates around me are extremely high, and I do everything that I can to meet those goals and expectations. I strive to be a leader at church, school, and on the soccer field.

(2) As a person, I have grown up with wonderful examples in my life that have helped me to develop into a man of good character as well as a quality athlete. This allows me to bring the fire and intensity that an athlete needs to be great while maintaining a sense of sportsmanship and respect for my opponents. I respect all of my fellow athletes on and off the field, while fearing none.

(3) Above all else, I know that God has given me all that I have, and he comes first and foremost in my life. I will be serving a mission for my church following my high school graduation, and as a result, I will not be available to play until the fall semester of 2017.

I Am Responsibile

I am responsible, I am reliable, I always follow through with what I say I’m gonna do.

I am dependable. I am responsible hold myself accountable, I take responsibility

And do what needs to be done. I show self-control

Use good judgment. I think about the consequences of my actions

Responsibility, It is my duty

Fulfilling all of my Moral obligations

If I mess up I will always less up

I will keep my head up, I’m never gonna give up

It is my duty And responsibility

To follow through You can count on me To do what I say

That I’m going to so I never make excuses

When everything goes wrong I take responsibility

And don’t blame anyone I put the blame on me

Stand up and take the lead Come on and follow me

Let’s make this a priority! I show self – control

Use good judgment, The consequences

Of my actions.  Responsibility,

It is my duty fulfilling all of my

Moral obligations…

Finishers Wanted: Work Hard

“For every finish-line tape a runner breaks -- complete with the cheers of the crowd and the clicking of hundreds of cameras -- there are the hours of hard and often lonely work that rarely gets talked about.”

Grete Waitz
For Example:
  1. Pete Maravich, college basketball's all-time leading scorer, practiced 8-11 hours per day during the off-season.
  2. Rick Mount, former National High School Basketball Player of the Year, practiced 5-6 hours per day during the off-season.
  3. David White scored a perfect score on his Dental Board Exam after studying 1000 hours in six months preparing for the test.
  4.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Stephen R. Covey teaches "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People." These habits are applicable to anyone any age regardless of one's present circumstances. The habits apply to parents, teens, children, business people, students in school, clergymen, salesmen, and all other types of individuals.

The First Three Habits surround moving from dependence to independence (i.e., self-mastery):

Independence

  • Habit 1: Be Proactive
Take initiative in life by realizing that your decisions (and how they align with life's principles) are the primary determining factor for effectiveness in your life. Take responsibility for your choices and the consequences that follow.
  • Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
Self-discover and clarify your deeply important character values and life goals. Envision the ideal characteristics for each of your various roles and relationships in life.
  • Habit 3: Put First Things First
A manager must manage his own person. Personally. And managers should implement activities that aim to reach the second habit. Covey says that rule two is the mental creation; rule three is the physical creation.

The next three have to do with Interdependence (i.e., working with others):

Interdependence

  • Habit 4: Think Win-Win
Genuinely strive for mutually beneficial solutions or agreements in your relationships. Value and respect people by understanding a "win" for all is ultimately a better long-term resolution than if only one person in the situation had got his way.
  • Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood
Use empathic listening to be genuinely influenced by a person, which compels them to reciprocate the listening and take an open mind to being influenced by you. This creates an atmosphere of caring, and positive problem solving.
  • Habit 6: Synergize
Combine the strengths of people through positive teamwork, so as to achieve goals no one person could have done alone.

The final habit is that of continuous improvement in both the personal and interpersonal spheres of influence.

Continuous Improvement

  • Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
Balance and renew your resources, energy, and health to create a sustainable, long-term, effective lifestyle. It primarily emphasizes exercise for physical renewal, prayer (meditation, yoga, etc.) and good reading for mental renewal. It also mentions service to society for spiritual renewal.
