One Day

"One Day"

Sometimes I lay
Under the moon
And thank God I'm breathing
Then I pray
Don't take me soon
'Cause I am here for a reason

Sometimes in my tears I drown
But I never let it get me down
So when negativity surrounds
I know some day it'll all turn around because...

All my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
For the people to say
That we don't wanna fight no more
There will be no more wars
And our children will play
One day [6x]

It's not about
Win or lose
'Cause we all lose
When they feed on the souls of the innocent
Blood-drenched pavement
Keep on moving though the waters stay raging

In this maze you can lose your way (your way)
It might drive you crazy but don't let it faze you, no way (no way)

Sometimes in my tears I drown (I drown)
But I never let it get me down (get me down)
So when negativity surrounds (surrounds)
I know some day it'll all turn around because...

All my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
For the people to say
That we don't wanna fight no more
There will be no more wars
And our children will play
One day [6x]

One day this all will change
Treat people the same
Stop with the violence
Down with the hate

One day we'll all be free
And proud to be
Under the same sun
Singing songs of freedom like
One day [4x]

All my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
For the people to say
That we don't wanna fight no more
There will be no more wars
And our children will play
One day [6x]

Enthusiasm

"One man has enthusiasm for 30 minutes, another for 30 days, but it is the man who has it for 30 years who makes a success of his life."

Life Planning Goals Journal Testimonial

May 24, 2016
From Alfonso Lua, UCLA student, former HPIAM student:

My Life planning book has been vital in guiding me to achieve my goals. It’s a great way to acknowledge your deficiencies and work to improve on them. Having a goal in mind sets you apart from most individuals who do not have a path or a goal. It makes you competitive but also allows you to accomplish your dreams.

One goal I wrote down on my life planning book was to make the UCLA Speech & Debate team roster. I worked hard and tirelessly to improve my public speaking skills and develop my debating skills as well. Successfully, before the turn of the new year I was placed on the debate roster. This is a true testament to the power of writing down a goal.

Reading and updating your life planning book is a great way to help clarify some of your important priorities. It will help ensure that you don’t live with regrets. It will also maintain a balance within your life. I encourage you to continue to update your life planning books so that you can accomplish what matters most.

One last piece of advice I would like to offer is to be ready to sacrifice what you are to what you want to become.

Best wishes to the class of 2016 … and to Mr. Haymore for helping guide this generation and equipping them with important knowledge that will be vital in their future endeavors

Cheers,

Alfonso Lua
