I think what this quote is saying is that in order to help some one we first need to know how to help one another. That means that we have to understand the lessons in life to understand and help other people. For example in school when you need to help another student you first have to know the lecture and the subject in class to help a fellow classmate in trouble.

ReplyDeleteYou do have to help yourself first before helping some one else. if you don't help yourself then you cant make progress. you need the knowledge in order to help the other person. if you have done this task then you can explain it very well.
ReplyDeleteOne can't be selfless to the point of neglecting themselves. Although it is commendable to put the needs of others before your own, one must always tend to their own needs as well. There is always joy to be found in helping others and simply performing random acts of kindness, but the truth is that not all of one's time and effort can be exhausted to help everyone but themselves. Do more for others than you do for yourself, but not insofar that you neglect yourself completely.
