As of late, cyber bullying has become a topic of some controversy. Several teenagers have resorted to ending their lives as a result of others harassing them over the internet. One case in particular that received much attention was that of a young thirteen year old girl who committed suicide after receiving a message from a woman saying that the world would be better off without her. Now, perhaps I am being insensitive, but doesn't it seem rather irrational for someone to commit suicide after receiving a malicious comment from one person, mind you, a person they didn't even know? I realize that such comments can bruise one's feelings, and I sympathize with those whom experience severe chagrin when under a constant barrage of hate, but I believe that all this should motivate a person to be better, to be stronger. Henry David Thoreau once said, “It is what a man thinks of himself that really determines his fate." What others may say or think of you should not matter to you, for once you believe it, it will have become true, thus sealing your fate. This life is yours to lead; do not let others decide what is to become of you.

What I think about this is that it is true. We can let people tell us what we are or who we are we choose who we are. I also believe that we should not listen to people who try to discourage us but ignore. We are the ones who decide who we are. That is what I think about this statement.

I agree with what Julio says. Lately it has become a big problem but i really think that people shouldnt pay much attention to it, i mean if they didnt have the courage enough to say it in person then im pretty sure theyre not worth it. Specially those peopl that you dont even know so i really think that is a problem but all you have to do is ignore it and if it really gets out of controll it should be reported.

This is really true lately this been happening to young teens on the internet.Well i think todays teens start getting depress at a early age.Well, some teens get depress.Some can't cope with problems at school and at home.And thats why i think the kids should'nt use the internet to chat with random people.They might think they can help them with thier problems.But, their some cruel people on those chat room.Its always good to keep an eye on those young teens.You well never know what might happen.

I think this is a great topic to discuss because this coming very common now. Honestly, in my opinion this is pretty dumb to commit suicide just because someone doesn't like you, specially if you don't even know the person telling you things. Come on this is cyber bulling we're taking about you can easily delete the messages, block them, or just simply turn it off, it would be more rational if their all in your face all the time and you can't get away from it but cyber bulling is just something that you can easily get away from...

I think that people that receive those kind of messages should just ignore them. If they don't ignore them it could lead them to commit suicide. Teenagers that receive messages like that should report them immediately. You should not let no one bring down your emotions like that. CTR.

Cyberspace jokers are bad but it is the person who belives them that makes them even bader.By beliving them they end up doing what they say.They shoun't care what others think pf them.Espeacially since they don't know them.If you don't know them then why listen to them because they probably don't know you.It's just a game to others and if you play with them then you are screwed.
