Jesus Calls Twelve Apostles to Preach and Bless Others

Matthew 10:1-11

1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the
4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers , raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter , enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.

Guide Us, O Thou Great Jehovah

Lyrics

  1. 1. Guide us, O thou great Jehovah,

    Guide us to the promised land.

    We are weak, but thou art able;

    Hold us with thy pow’rful hand.

    Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit,

    Feed us till the Savior comes,

    Feed us till the Savior comes.

  2. 2. Open, Jesus, Zion’s fountains;

    Let her richest blessings come.

    Let the fiery, cloudy pillar

    Guard us to this holy home.

    Great Redeemer, Great Redeemer,

    Bring, oh, bring the welcome day,

    Bring, oh, bring the welcome day!

  3. 3. When the earth begins to tremble,

    Bid our fearful thoughts be still;

    When thy judgments spread destruction,

    Keep us safe on Zion’s hill,

    Singing praises, Singing praises,

    Songs of glory unto thee,

    Songs of glory unto thee

FIELD TRIP TODAY: BE THANKFUL: Pine Ridge Indian Reservation

The Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota is home to the Oglala Lakota nation — people whose ancestors survived generations of oppression and violence. Today, half live below the poverty line and many go without basics like running water. Life expectancy for Lakota men is 47 and for women is 53, lower than any country in the world. That was before the pandemic. NBCLX contributors Martin Markovits and Niko Kyriakou take us inside a Native American community fighting for its life.

Truck driver shortage impacts deliveries nationwide

Truck Driver Shortage

The nationwide delivery delay is in part due to the lack of delivery drivers, which is slated to increase through the year 2023.

We appreciate and need truck drivers

If all trucks stopped, then all the shelves in all grocery stores would be empty within two weeks time. Let's pray to Heavenly Father to thank Him for the truck drivers and that truck drivers will continue to drive and that more people will join the truck-driving force--WE NEED THEM!!

Indian Heritage Month: The People of the Horse

Horses changed life on the Great Plains forever, shaping everything from hunting methods to social status. For Native Americans today, horses endure as an emblem of tradition and a source of pride, pageantry, and healing.

 “The horse, with beauty unsurpassed, strength immeasurable and grace unlike any other, still remains humble enough to carry a man upon his back.”

Jesus Heals a Lame Man on the Sabbath

Jesus performs a miracle by healing an invalid on the Sabbath day.

John 5:2-12

2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.

3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.

4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise , take up thy bed, and walk.

9 And immediately the man was made whole , and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.

12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?

I Stand All Amazed

Lyrics

  1. 1. I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me,

    Confused at the grace that so fully he proffers me.

    I tremble to know that for me he was crucified,

    That for me, a sinner, he suffered, he bled and died.

  2. [Chorus]

    Oh, it is wonderful that he should care for me

    Enough to die for me!

    Oh, it is wonderful, wonderful to me!

  3. 2. I marvel that he would descend from his throne divine

    To rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine,

    That he should extend his great love unto such as I,

    Sufficient to own, to redeem, and to justify.

  4. 3. I think of his hands pierced and bleeding to pay the debt!

    Such mercy, such love and devotion can I forget?

    No, no, I will praise and adore at the mercy seat,

    Until at the glorified throne I kneel at his feet.

Text and music: Charles H. Gabriel, 1856–1932
