Showing virtuosity means doing something with the ultimate proficiency and skill, showing that you are simply the best at what you do. The best way to become skilled is to work hard and smart. While we cannot control the amount of natural ability we have, we can control the amount of effort we put forth.

Think about Peter's description of his daily training with Tim Daggett before the Olympics. They had a vision in their minds of what they wanted to accomplish, and how they were going to perform to reach those goals. Remember, PRACTICE MAKES PERMANENT... so practice right. What we do over and over again will become permanent behavior. If we approach each day with average effort, we will consistently get average results. But when we place a high enough value on something, we'll figure out a way to get the job done well. In order to apply the principle of virtuosity, we must always remember our ultimate goal, even if reaching our goals takes years to accomplish. And those final goals must be of great worth to us personally. By constantly keeping the Olympic Gold Medal in mind, Peter placed a great value on every workout. And there were big rewards for his little extra efforts.

Virtuosity involves taking a common skill and working hard to perform the task better. Add your own flair. Let your own personality and unique qualities shine through. Risk using your own Originality to develop Virtuosity.

LIFES LIKE A FOOTBALL GAME


Life is like a football game, it has four quarters, when your a kid, when your a teen , when your an adult and when your a senior. In the first quarter you may fumble or intercept the ball a lot. But its fine its just the first quarter. The second quarter you may get tackled and get thrown on the floor but soon your team mates will come and pick u right back up. Just like in life we are meant to make mistakes were not perfect all you have to do is get back on your feet. The second quarter is the most important part of the game as it is in your life, its close to halftime and close to when you decide what you’ll be in life its what determines the rest of the game and what will determine how you'll live. The third quarter is when it starts to get harder like in life too you'll have to make hard decisions and think on your feet. third quarter still brings pressure you know the game will be over soon so you'll know you have to work harder. In the game the third quarter is when u start to look at the score and at the game clock, and in life its the time when you start to look at your goals and the time you have to accomplish them. Fourth quarter has finally arrived after all your hard work you know you’ve accomplishes a lot. If your winning or losing that wont matter a lot you know you’ve tried hard you fell and got back up. your teammates are tired and so are you it has been a great game no matter the obstacles that you came upon like in the game as in life you’ve work hard in each quarter you start easy and it gets harder you fall down and get back up go back in your huddle call the next play and try again .like in a foot ball game some times you lose some times you win but if you try your hardest in practice like in life, if you try your hardest and study read one hours a day choose the right and apply all the signs you’ll make it to play offs and in life be vary successful you’ll win the super bowl.

New Football Stadium

As many of you know, our governor of california. Has decided to make a brand new football stadium. How is that? I thought that the state has no money to pay teachers. His solution was letting go of many teachers from many schools including ours. Many teachers have no jobs now and you are telling me that this was done to build a new football stadium. I understand that by building this stadium in the city of Industry, that will create new jobs. My question is at what cost? I believe that by cutting money from schools is not right. Our parents pay taxes for us to go to school andnow his solutions are affecting our learning. What do you guys think.

EL CUCUY

El cocoy

 

Once upon a time there was this guy that lived at the corner of the house of my street his name was coco. He was not that old but he was not that young he was like 50 something years old. He was always mean to every one and grouchy he was called el cocoy. On night on Halloween he was in his house and some kids thought it would be funny to scared this old mean guy as a prank to get back at him. But it was the worst thing they could have ever done.

 

They went in to his back yard he old guy was in his house in the basement. They snuck in side and the all hide in different places of the house.  One hide in the closet one hide behind the door of the basement one hide in the room and the other in the kitchen. Once the guy came out if the basement the kid jumped out and scared him the guy ran to the kitchen, he got scared and ran to the living room but before he got there the kid jumped out of the closet he got scared again and ran to the room and then the kid jumped out again and he got so scared that he had a heart attack and died right there. The kids got so scared they just left ran out the house and went to a house.

Because of what that kids did to him he did not die in Pease so he would not rest to the kids paid for what they did. One by one they were disappearing till there was one more kid left and he was so scared he was going to be the next one. One day the kid was showering when he hears a noise UN in his room he was alone he says “ its nothing probably just the wind so he stays in there. He hears it again so he gets out and goes and checks. Then he sees the only guy in front of him telling him “por que me mataste por queeeeeee” the kid was so scared he ran. But every were he ran the cocoy popped out.  Then he took a sharp turn and then he slipped on the rug and hit his head on the end of the table he bleed to death.

 

After the cocoy got rid of all those kids he dint want go back to ret he was having too much fun. So till now he still goes around scaring little kids on the day of Halloween. That’s why my mom tells my little brother when he doesn’t eat his food “ay viene el cocoy.” So beware on the day of Halloween of el cocoy.

A Matter of Opinion

As of late, cyber bullying has become a topic of some controversy. Several teenagers have resorted to ending their lives as a result of others harassing them over the internet. One case in particular that received much attention was that of a young thirteen year old girl who committed suicide after receiving a message from a woman saying that the world would be better off without her. Now, perhaps I am being insensitive, but doesn't it seem rather irrational for someone to commit suicide after receiving a malicious comment from one person, mind you, a person they didn't even know? I realize that such comments can bruise one's feelings, and I sympathize with those whom experience severe chagrin when under a constant barrage of hate, but I believe that all this should motivate a person to be better, to be stronger. Henry David Thoreau once said, “It is what a man thinks of himself that really determines his fate." What others may say or think of you should not matter to you, for once you believe it, it will have become true, thus sealing your fate. This life is yours to lead; do not let others decide what is to become of you.

The Recession

As you all know we are currently in a recession. We are facing economic struggles. I have noticed that education is being hit pretty hard. Teachers are being laid off, and students are being crammed into classrooms. This really makes a big impact because teachers are unable to teach to so many students. Not enough attention is being paid to every student. This also doesn't allow teachers to focus on all students as they wish. Instead they have to fit in lesson plans that will work with so many students, and the same learning materials are no longer being taught. Since students aren't getting the attention they need, then this can mean that the graduation rates at schools will decrease. There has to be other alternatives to get us out of this recession, and making educational budget cuts is not the way.

HPHS Culture

The overall culture of HPHS is that most students do not work hard, are rather lethargic, and do not set high-achieving goals. The HPHS community of students needs to become more enthusiastic about studying, learning, being scholars and academic champions, and always choosing the right. Most students are wonderful young men and young women, but how can we change the HPHS culture so that students will work hard, work smart, work together, and always Choose the Right?
