Elder Joe J. Christensen, Ph.D

The Power of Resolutions: Life-Changing Instantly

Joe J. Christensen excels at teaching and was fortunate enough

to be provided with many opportunities to teach both inside and 

outside of the Church.He was born in the summer of 1929 and 

grew up in Banida, Idaho. He went to Utah State University for 

two years and then served a full-time mission in 

Mexico and Central America. Upon his return, he finished his 

bachelor’s degree at BYU. He also received his PhD from 

Washington State University. After graduation,

 Elder Christensen joined the US Air Force. 

He was then a seminary teacher and eventually, became an 

institute director. He directed institute programs at 

Washington State University, the University of Idaho, and 

the University of Utah. He loved these opportunities and 

planned to use his skills to strengthen the spirituality 

of the students.

When Heber J. Grant was young, his parents were too poor to replace his old, thin jacket. Instead, his mother surprised him with a winter coat she had made by hand. Heber loved it. One day, as he was playing in the snowy street, he noticed a small boy crouched in front of an exhaust grate, trying to get warm. Heber gave his new coat to the boy, who needed it more than he did. This Christmas and always, take time to notice the people around you. What can you do to help them? Your service will warm your heart and theirs. “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matt. 25:40).

Jesus Is Resurrected

Peter and John find the empty tomb. Jesus, now resurrected, appears to Mary. John 20: 3-18 3 Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre.

4 So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre.

5 And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.

6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,

7 And the napkin , that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

8 Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.

9 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead .

10 Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.

help other people and mention their specific names. Be completely honest and sincere
