Character vs Player
Many believe that you should work and play to win at all cost, forgetting about honesty, integrity, good character and sportsmanship. While winning is important and enjoyable, it is not as important as being a good sport for participation. Wins and losses come and go, but character is and will be vital at all times. We don't even remember who won the World Series three years ago, or who won the NCAA basketball championship two years ago, and for all practical purposes, it really doesn't matter to us now who won or lost. But what does matter now is the type of person you are; this is the critical topic 24/7.
Students, always Choose the Right and you'll be a happy and successful person. The good news is that you can win and also be the best sport at the same time and enjoy the best of both worlds. The type of person you are is more crucial that winning, losing, or the level of your athletic skill.
"What you are as a person is far more important than what you are as a basketball player."
