The Recession

As you all know we are currently in a recession. We are facing economic struggles. I have noticed that education is being hit pretty hard. Teachers are being laid off, and students are being crammed into classrooms. This really makes a big impact because teachers are unable to teach to so many students. Not enough attention is being paid to every student. This also doesn't allow teachers to focus on all students as they wish. Instead they have to fit in lesson plans that will work with so many students, and the same learning materials are no longer being taught. Since students aren't getting the attention they need, then this can mean that the graduation rates at schools will decrease. There has to be other alternatives to get us out of this recession, and making educational budget cuts is not the way.

  1. I think that this is true, not that many students are working hard. Many students are not trying to work hard. I think that the way we can change the way they work is by showing more support to the students who need it. That is what I think they should do.

  2. THIS IS A VERY TRUTH THING. THE REASON THAT THEIR ARE NOT THAT MANY STUDENTS GRADUATING THIS YEAR ITS BECAUSE THEY NEED HELP. STUDENTS NEED HELP BECAUSE THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND THE WORK. THAT IS ALL DUE TO THE BUDGET CUTS. THAT'S WHY THEIR HAS TO BE SOMETHING TO HELP OUT. THAT'S WHY I THINK THAT WE SHOULD SEE HOW WE ARE ABLE TO HELP IF NOT WE SHOULD GO TO THE GOVERNMENT AND COMPLAIN.

  3. It's true.Every class is mostly fulled. They have about 30 to 40 students in one class. Its mostly packed and you can not sit anywhere. They hardly have the time to pay attention to everyone becuase it is much more work that they have to do now then before. The profit is low becuase of the economy and it has effected everyone who we thought it wound't get to.

  5. I AGREE WITH WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY. IT TRUE THEIR HAS TO BE OTHER WAYS TO THIS PROBLEM. STUDENTS NEED MORE SPACE. ALMOST EVERY CLASS HAS AT LEAST 30 TO 40 KIDS . THATS TOO MANY STUDENTS FOR A TEACHER TO HANDLE .

  6. Accoridng for this quote is it is being a failuer for this school. Because everyone is quitting by choosing the wrong. Therefore there are fewer acheivements in this school. There's no learning and knowledge going around and students are not learning anything.

  7. my thoughts of this is that i agree with this. i say that we are in a recestion and making cuts from schools is not the way. we students need that money to sucseed and be sucessful and maby in the future make alot more moany and we might not be in the recetion. we have the right to lear and they are taking the money away from us to get a better education they wany us to go to school and learn i dont know how we can do that if we have like 50 or 60 kids in one class in every class becues there might not be enogh teachers. what have we done u know i agreee with elvin and what he is saying. i think educational buget cuts is not the way to go and we deserve the right to learn in a good enviorment were the teacher has time to help us.

  8. This is agood quote. I agree with Elvin because students are not getting the right attention they need. A lot of students that want to succeed can't because classes are overcrowded and teachers are being laid off. I think the state of California should not do budget cuts for the schools. They should do budget cuts on other things they really need to be budget cut.

  9. It is unacceptable that cuts are being made to education. There are other things that can be done to lighten the load that is the recession. Speaking strictly at the state level, if a twenty-five cent tax were to be placed on alcoholic beverages, billions of dollars would be made. Education is vital to the success of not only students, but of our country. Well educated individuals are more likely to have a larger income, and a larger income means that more money will be pumped into the economy. Budget cuts to education must be stopped.

  12. I agree with what Elvin says. Their has to be something that we can do to fix this problem. Many classes as well as summerschool has also been drop because of the same thing. That means that less kids will garduate and thats something that we dont want. Something has to be done so more teachers can start teaching and classes can be less crowded.

  14. I think that it's very true this "economic struggle" that we're going true is affecting us not only the teachers that are getting laid off but us as students as well. there's time were the teacher don't have the material required so that they can teach us a certain things the there so post to, that's happened to my teacher. Another time there wasn't enough of a certain kind of paper that we needed and when the teacher tried to get more the school said no because the school was really short on supplies.

  15. we are in the economic struggle right but student are working hard than ever. try a school bake sale so that teacher could get pay often and teach the students even more. student are working hard so they can get to college, but there aren't enough teacher to help them study. try getting enough school funds so that teacher can often teach the student often and help them get a high school diploma and get to college. so please trt doing that so that the prodlem would be solved. 16. What I think about this is that it is true. I beilieve that there is or has to another way that they can do the recession. Taking money from schools is not the way they should do it. There has to be other aternatives to do the recession. That is what this makes me think.
