Do Your Best

CTR Champions and Academic Champions have made a personal promise to obey the first part of the Boy Scout Oath: “On my honor I will do my best.”  What a marvelous promise to make to yourself and to others: to do your best. You are more talented at certain things than some people, and there are people more talented than you in other things. These comparisons are not important. What’s important is that you do your best no matter what amount of talent you possess. Doing your best brings peace of mind and a feeling of self-satisfaction.

John Wooden, former UCLA basketball coach and winner of 10 National Championships had deep insightfulness about doing your best.

Students, whether you are playing basketball or singing a song or writing an English paper or reading a book: Do Your Best. Do your best and let the consequences follow. You will not have any regrets when you do your best.

Shannon was an outstanding junior high school student. She was an overachiever, and she always strived to do her best. She studied so hard that she became the top student in the entire junior high school. How? She was taught to do her best, and her best brought her to the top, even membership into the CTR Club and the Academic Champion Club. Her hard work made her a Champion. You too can be an CTR/ Champion if you DO YOUR BEST.
