Be Understanding

"You can't understand another person until you walk a few miles in their moccasins."
Native American Proverb

  1. I think that this quote is true. What I understand is that you can't understand another person until you walk in their shoes. For example some people ask me how I can like baseball. That it is boring. Maybe if they thought they way I do then they might like baseball too. You have to live in the other persons shoes to know how they are, how they live...

  2. I couldn't agree more with this Proverb. When it comes to meeting a person you can't judge them by one look or by a single wave or what ever the case may be. For example if a new student walks into the classroom and he's quiet; what's your first thought about him? That he's shy right? Well that's when you step in and you get to know more about him, maybe he's quiet for a reason. Another example would be judging a book by it's cover; just because the front cover is not that colorful or nice doesn't mean it's a boring book.
That's why you have to find out more about the circumstances that come upon you.

  3. When one of your friends has
a problem have you ever put to think
    how she feels?
well in order to know how that
    person is feeling you
    have to live it.
For example: when they say you
have to be in my shoes to know how i
    feel.
Well it is really true and this quote makes it a fact,
    i really like this quote...

  4. Alejandra P: According to this statement it says that we wont understand what other people are going through if we don't walk in their shoes. Also that in order to understand is that we have to really listen and walk in the direction they are walking to.

  5. you cant understand others, until you put yourself in there shoes. when you put yourself in another person's shoes, you'll see there own perspective and you'll understand them. you can see how they think of stuff in there own way, and how they want to do stuff.

  7. This is a great proverb and is very true. To truly understand someone, you have to walk in their shoes first. It might sound silly, but if you actually take time understand where other people come from and have to deal with then you will become and all around better person. This world need more people that are willing to help others in their struggle. I hope one day to become a truly good person.

  9. we could understand other person while they walk a few mile. But not almost everybody will understand each other. because some they don't choose the right to walk the miles and some do make the right choices. for example if i don't listen to the teachers i would not reach the distance they are.

  10. I think that this is extremely true. Someone can't understand a person without first knowing what they have or are going through in life. To fully understand someone you would have to experience what they have experienced or something similar to it. That is what "walking in their moccasins" means. I also think that this is saying to not judge a person without really understanding them first.

I think this quote is straight forward on its meanings. You never can understand another person until you see wat it is like to be them. When you see a person and you wonder whats wrong with them, you may not know they are going through diffcult times. So take a look at tt what its like to be them and you will understand.

  12. I really think you wont understand some in till you but your self in their moccasins. Because you wouldn't understand the things they been through like problems with your family, friends, work and life its self. If you do take a walk in some ones moccasins you will understand where their coming from. Thats why Im willing to take a walk in their moccasins to understand. Their for I really think you wont know in till you walk in some ones moccasins.

  14. What I think this quote means is not to judge people. You really don't know what they are going through. Unless you have gone through it yourself. So before you start judging you just you should try to understand them first. For example I always try to talk people to understand them.

This quote is true because in till you walk with that person for some miles.
You will understand another person's moccasins. That is a Native American
heelless shoes that Indians made back in the days.
