This post tells me that if you want to be great, do not choose to be like others. Just try to be the best you can be and you might be better than the person you look up to. Practice makes perfect. Today's post, like every other quote is extremely inspirational. It is true everyone seeks to win, but a persons character is what matters most. That character is what defines how the person will react if he/she loses. Every one has an idol like all the kids playing soccer want to be like Pele, but that idol must not only show you how to be like them but you also need to know how to be like a man. Character matters most, your character must be strong like a man's, but be kind, gentle and intelligent as well.

Every one wants to be someone great in life, either like a famous soccer player, or singer, or actor. But sometimes more than having the skills, you need to have character. You can be the best soccer player but with the cockiest attitude. No matter what point we are in our life it's important to be humble and a good person.

I like the quote because it days that in life, even if you want to win, always seek the true and fair way to win. Like in a soccer game, you may want to win very badly but you have to win the right way, because you cannot win the wrong way. There is no possibly way... I also like that Pele knows that young kids look up to him and knows he needs to choose the right in order to guide these young kids into the right path also, character always plays a important role in life, we need to have a positive character in order to have a positive future.

It's not about how well you can play or do something ,but about how your character is when you are doing something in life . Your character says how much you care in doing something. i myself am not much of a soccer fan but i know who pele was and he is an inspiration to many kids who play soccer. he is vert talented and has won world cup trophy's. everyone has some one that they admire and look up to well pele was just that some one, people would admire when they would go and play. it challenges us to be like him and be great in what we love. if he can accomplish great things so can we with CTR.

It's not whether you win or loose, it's whether you tried or gave up. Characters Matter the most because its not because you won, its whether you tried and played a fair game, If you win and you were using shortcuts then you wont be recognize for being the best player, If you lost but you at least tried really hard, your character will matter a lot. They won't call you a looser, they will smile and say maybe next time. Choose the Right Character for yourself, it does matter and A lot!

Most teenage boys want to be like Pele because of all that he achieved when he played soccer. Pele has great responsibility to choose the right because of how many people admire him. If he were to choose the wrong it would be like telling all of his followers to choose the wrong. Pele has the responsibility to make sure that he does the right thing so that his followers will also CHOOSE THE RIGHT, and they might also become champions like Pele. something that i understand from this quote is that instead of trying to be like somebody else. set your own goals. make somebody that other people would like to follow. if you would like to follow somebody else's footsteps make sure they have good habits and they have good morals. don't let the bad influences fool i into fun at the time. and remember to always dream high.

I don't really like this comment because I dislike soccer ALOT..and I don;t know who 'pele' is. Another reason i don't like it, is because he sounds sexist. There are little girls who like soccer too. i don't understand why he would want to shoe EVERY kid who plays soccer to be like a MAN. Have character. If you win or lose game shake hands with the other team and you will show great character in you. CTR and be respectful to others. Just because they don't show respect to you, it doesn't mean that you have to disrespect them. Be a man and be kind. Show that you care for them and that you are a respectful person. This quote means that winning isn't everything, say you put all your hard work into the game and so did your teammates, then it shouldn't matter if you won or lost. Everybody looks up to Pele because he has highly skilled in soccer, so he shows us that the kids that look up to him, pele doesn't just want to show them how to play soccer, but to show them to choose the right things in life and be a man. i am i real live soccer fan in last year's world cup i had so many emotions when mix because when my team was winning i would be happy but when the table switch the other way i was sad mad and i even cried and Mexico played the first game of the world cup vs. South Africa i stayed home from school i wouldn't have missed that game for the world. But i guess they didn't win but in my heart they did and thats what really matters...

If everyone wants to be like you than you have to make a difference and Choose the right so everyone else can choose the right as well. If you get them to do that then the world will be a place full of people choosing the right. When you are playing in a sport, it doesn't matter if you win or loose. It's about playing fair and doing something you really love. Character matters the most, being true to yourself matters a lot too. When playing in a team, you have to look out for them as well. It shows what a great person you are. Nobody likes a bully in a game. So play fair and represent yourself in a good way. Show them you are a good sport. I like this quote it reminds me of when I play lacrosse. Our coach taught us how to play fair and clean. It reminded me of our last game of the season, it was against Pacific Palisades. Although we didn't win the game we really played like a team that day. We played a clean fair game. We all felt really proud of each other that it didn't really matter that we didn't win. That's how people should be taught to play, not only in sports but in everything else.

well I don't like soccer , but i do have friends that they play in the the HPHS girl soccer team and they tell me that it's not easy to accomplish their goals of becoming a very good player but they try they don't give up for nothing they keep trying . so i do the same thing as them i try to do the things more then one time. if some one wants some thing then you need to work very hard for it to accomplish it .

Its true everyone seeks to win, but winning is all in yourself, depends what you consider winning. If you consider winning just being the best, then you got it wrong, winning is learning how to win and have respect for the losing team or at least playing with everything you got. Winning isn't always about being the best its about your best character in the game. To be a man doesn't mean being strong or better than someone, it means being the bigger person when you lose and if you win then don't be cocky or be a bad person to the other team, it means respecting the effort the other team put in against you. When being a bigger person or man or when it involves losing or winning, its all in your character and effort that gets you places. For example, a college or High School student can be offered a scholarship depending on how he played and how he took the foals or mistakes, you never know who's watching so have good character.
