Jesus Chooses His Disciples

"Jesus spots a tax collector named Matthew Levi at the gate. He collects toll money for customs as people pass through. As Jesus looks at him, Matthew senses it and looks up. Jesus says, ""Follow me."" Matthew watches Him go for a moment. Silently, he stands and leaves everything to follow Jesus. Later Jesus goes up a hill to pray. He prays the entire night to God. When He comes down from the hill the next morning, He gathers His followers. From them, he chooses 12 apostles. Simon (who Jesus named Peter) and Simon's brother Andrew had been the fishermen who experienced the miracle of a large catch of fish. Then Jesus chooses James and John, Philip and Bartholomew. And He chooses Matthew, the tax collector he had called at the gate. And finally Jesus chooses Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who would betray Jesus." A docudrama on the life of Jesus Christ based on the Gospel of Luke, JESUS has been translated into more than 1,000 languages since its 1979 release. It remains the most translated and viewed film in history.

Develop a CTR Character Through Prayer

Prayer is a way to communicate with your Father in Heaven. Pray daily and

sincerely.

HOW TO PRAY

The Four Steps of Prayer:

1. "Our Father in Heaven"

2. "I thank thee...." [Thank Him for specific blessings and things you are thankful for]

3. "I ask thee..."[Ask for His help. Plead with Him. Confide in Him. Talk with Him. Pour out

your heart to Him. Tell Him how you really feel. Council with Him in all your doings on

any topic.  Ask Him to guide and direct you. Ask Him to bless and help other people

and mention their specific names. Be completely honest and sincere with Him]

4. "In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

"All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

(Matthew 21:22)

"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe

that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." (Mark 11:24)

"With God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26)
